"A retirement plan is a terrible thing to waste."

Retirement Plans / Planning

You don't have to be old to begin to think about retirement planning...actually, the earlier you start, the better off you will be.

We help you understand the importance of retirement planning. We help you organize and prioritize your financial goals and we outline an action plan for fulfilling those goals, whether it is maximizing cash flow, reducing taxes, funding college education, home purchases, weddings, automobiles, and other financial objectives. Can you save money by refinancing your mortgage? We have saved clients hundreds of dollars per month on the mortgage payments. Can you reduce your taxable income by investing in tax-preferred investments? We have help clients investing for the long-term to avoid 1099s every year. Are you taking the appropriate deductions on your taxes? We can help you here.

We help you monitor your investment choices in Individual Retirement Accounts and Roth IRAs, your company's 401(k) or 403(b), SEP-IRA and SIMPLE IRAs/SIMPLE 401(k)s and other retirement plans. Should you convert to a Roth IRA or stay with a traditional IRA? Should you be investing in money market funds or other low-risk, low-return investments in your retirement plan for the long term? We help you understand your retirement plan statements and choices because it matters. The difference between a 5% return on $20,000 over 20 years and a 10% return on $20,000 over 20 years is the difference between $53,066 and $134,550. Is it worth it to you to pay attention here?

Maxed out your 401(k) and still looking to put more money away tax-deferred for your retirement? Look at the Roth IRAs and traditional IRAs and tax-deferred annuities. There is no limit to what you can stash away for the Golden Years.

Nearman Financial Consulting works with companies in benefits plans development and administration. It's a confusing world out there, and a dangerous one financially and legally if you are not careful. What's the difference between 401(k), 403(b), NBA, NHL, MSL and all these other confusing abbreviations?

We analyze your needs and strive to design the most suitable plans to fit those needs. Can't afford a 401(k)? How about a Simple 401(k) or Simple IRA? Even if you as a company cannot afford to contribute to your employees' retirement, you can set up plans to allow your employees to reduce their income taxes while contributing to their own retirement plan. Don't allow your employees to naively rely upon a Social Security system which may not have the money to pay them during retirement. And non-profit institutions can benefit from retirement plans specifically designed for them.

We offer 401(k) plans and other profit-sharing plans through thousands of mutual fund and insurance companies. We offer plans which allow a third-party administrator to do your complex testing and paperwork and filing, or you can choose a plan in which the mutual fund or insurance company provides the third-party administration too. There are costs and benefits of going either way, and we can explain them to you.
